INVENTORY OF CHAMPIONS
“All the leather I use is made to my specifications,” D’Onofrio proudly says. “If I have a zipper that needs to be matched, I’ll
send it to my tannery.” They’ll pair up the leather with the details. “I was using soft leather before anyone heard of it,” he says, while also boasting the use of hand-stitched leather. No matter what, you’re getting a quality product from this leather artist—briefcases, hexagon-shaped handbags, triangle-shaped purses, and the popular and handy pick-pocket proof bag.

DESIGNED TO FIT
Most of D’Onofrio’s bags are one-of-a-kind. “I’m always making new designs,” he explains, “but my inventory is built around the customers’ requests.”
If you see one of D’Onofrio’s bags on display but feel it could be improved with a cell phone pocket, an extra zipper, or another interior compartment, he’ll make your suggestions work.
“Every time I design a new bag, I incorporate the best features from my old bags. I’ll change it to make it desirable.”

ONLY IN HIS DREAMS
When asked about where he finds his inspiration for new designs, D’Onofrio says, “It’s hard to explain. Sometimes I want to make a new bag and I just can’t. Other times I have to pull over in my RV to sketch and capture what’s swimming around in my head.” But it’s not only in reality that D’Onofrio develops his best creations. “I’ll have dreams about booths that belong to other people, wake up and think, ‘Wow, they had great designs,’ and then realize, ‘Wait—they’re my designs!’”
