I live for paper casting! I have been a professional artist for over 25 years, working in many mediums. These include print making, painting, sculpture, and paper making. All of which evolved into the masters medium of cast paper, my medium of choice for many years. My original designs are inspired by the spiritual icons of early cultures, such as the Celtic and Native Americans, or the rich metaphors of nature.
Meticulously sculpted in wax relief, a permanent negative mold is formed off the wax original. The paper pulp is made by beating cotton and water. The pulp is hand pressed and tooled into the mold and set aside to dry. Later the dried casting is burnished and hand finished with metallic glazes. The limited edition pieces are signed and numbered with editions being 250 or less. Due to the nature of the process, it can take up to 5 years to complete an edition.
I work in a spacious studio, overlooking the woods in my home in Marietta, GA. My work is represented in over 50 galleries around the country, on the internet and at the dozen or so fine art and craft shows I attend each year. Hope to see you there!
