Looking to experience one of the top-rated craft shows in the U.S.? The Sugarloaf Crafts Festival comes to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg, Md. for a three-day event beginning October 14. Arrive early and stay late for a fulfilling weekend of fun just outside Washington D.C.

No matter your age, reading level or social background, you’ll find something to love at a Sugarloaf Craft Festival. More than 200 exhibits will showcase the high-quality work of independent artisans from across the U.S., as well as local up-and-coming talent. You’ll find an extensive array of contemporary alternative clothing designers, fine artists, metal workers, leather workers and more, each with handmade craftwork for both everyday use and special occasions.

Furthermore, Sugarloaf allows visitors to “Meet the Maker”. Each of our carefully curated artisans can be found on the festival floor eagerly greeting collectors and enthusiasts while sharing the stories behind their work. Many exhibitors will even give demonstrations of their craft. Items are available to match any income level, whether you’re looking for something to add to your home or need a gift for the creative person in your life.

Master craftspeople, such as copper spinner John Akkus and stoneware expert Alan Burselm, will also be on hand to give people a taste of their field. While you’re checking out the exhibit, you can also listen to the modern musical stylings of the Jazz Lobsters and other artists. No event is complete without food, and you can head to our Festival of Foods section for a quality assortment of specialty vendors. You can even pick up artisan dog treats!

Act now and get discounted tickets online that allow you to experience the Sugarloaf magic for all three days. Sugarloaf Craft Festivals are held rain or shine, and the crisp autumn air adds a perfect touch. In addition to buying tickets online, you can look at artisan listings and exhibit layouts, find directions to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds and even get discounted rates at area hotels.
