sugarloaf craft festivals
spring tour 2017
Since its founding in 1975, the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival has become one of the premier shows of its kind in the United States, featuring the best in fine arts and quality crafts. Sugarloaf is excited to once again be visiting five locations in the Mid-Atlantic region during its Spring Tour, allowing everyone an opportunity to share in the wonder. Each three-day festival is brimming with local and national artists, craftspeople and performers showcasing their extraordinary skills.
Sugarloaf Craft shows offer a unique, fulfilling experience for both artisans and the public. The heart of each festival lies in the exhibitors who feature their homemade creations. Hundreds of curated artisans are on hand with crafts and wares for all ages that can include men’s and women’s high fashion, metal spinning, fine paintings and blown glass art. Sugarloaf features a friendly, personal experience, encouraging artists to interact with the public and let them get up-close with their work. Live art and entertainment are also part of every festival, with events ranging from stone art demonstrations to jazz and folk bands.
The Sugarloaf Craft Festivals Spring Tour is a cross-section of life in the eastern United States. The season kicks off January 27-29 at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Va., just outside of Washington, DC. Sugarloaf then heads to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pa. on March 17-19, followed by Somerset, N.J. the following weekend. After returning to the D.C. area in Gaithersburg, Md. on April 21-23, the spring tour concludes the next weekend in Timonium, Md. No two festivals are alike, with unique locations and exhibits bringing out the best in the local artistic community.
Tickets are good for the entirety of the festival, with discounts available for advance online and group purchasing. Each Sugarloaf festival is held rain or shine. Check out the various festival pages for artist and entertainment listings and experience the magic of Sugarloaf this spring!
