If you’re a female who works in an office environment requiring professional attire, then this is the story for you.
Don’t you wish there were more ways to change up that essential wardrobe combination–a white blouse with black pants. You’ve tried to accessorize with scarves, wanting to add that much-desired touch of femininity to your outfits. But there are always the slippery scarves that won’t stay where they belong and the particularly cumbersome squares that always get in the way. Gretchen McCrorey has solved this problem and then some.
“Years ago I worked in an office setting,” says the designer. “I was annoyed that my scarves never stayed where they belonged so I developed a solution that works from day to night.” On the Go In Style was born—McCrorey’s successful business boasts multi-functional, easy-to-wear, and innovative fashion accessories that punch up any wardrobe.
“I started sewing when I was really young so that wasn’t the hard part,” says McCrorey. All she needed was the idea. Her business first took off when she exhibited at a small bazaar and now she’s a Sugarloaf staple. “For me the scarf seemed like such an effortless idea because I was used to it,” she explains. “Who would ever think I was the one who came up with something so simple?”
The Easy Drape Scarf is made of lighter weight fabric and there are five different ways it can be situated around the neck. “There are no tails sticking out, no tucking or pinning involved,” McCrorey explains. For women who travel often or need to frequently spice up their ensembles, the Versatile Scarf/Vest is also a wardrobe staple. It does exactly what it says it does—you can use it as a scarf or a vest.
The fabric designs will please every sensibility and style as they run the gamut from contemporary to geometric to floral. McCrorey tests each one before she brands them with her unique magic. The easy care fabrics, she explains, “cannot wrinkle when they’re tied in a knot and must go in the washer and dryer.”
New additions to McCrorey’s line include belts and sashes, aimed at the younger teenage crowd but suitable for anyone with the desire to wear them and make them their own. “They’re cute and look great with jeans and skirts,” she says.
“My designs will change the look of the wardrobe you already have,” says McCrorey. And she suggests that customers hang their scarf in their closet—when you see it often, you’ll use it often.
