Artist Website

Lynn & Alan began selling hand painted children’s clothing on the streets of New York City in the 1970’s. On weekends, they would set up shop on the ledge of a building in Soho and sell out every week.

In 1981, they named their company Babytoes after the Carl Sandburg poem of the same name. They’ve since branched out to offer clothing for adults and children from newborn and up. Their patterns are cut and sewn in Allentown, PA and dyed and painted in Phoenicia, NY near where they live. All of their clothing is preshrunk,  machine washable, and generously cut.

Over the decades they’ve had many fruitful partnerships including arrangements with La Mirage Hotels, Disney, Macy’s and U.S. Army stores. The Jackson Pollack Museum sold children’s clothing with the Babytoes splatter design.
