Gloria Kirk-Hanna / X Stream Fibers

Hometown: Grand Haven, MI

Gloria Kirk-Hanna grew up in a family of painters, sculptors and writers which probably helped her decide to pursue a creative career. In college, she studied drawing, pottery, art history and quilting. It was the quilting which led her to her current work in fiber arts.

Gloria makes an assortment of apparel items, quilts and fiber fine art pieces, always experimenting and pushing artistic boundaries.

Her apparel items include women’s cowls, scarves and shawls made with hand spun yarns, silk ribbons and other plush materials. All of her work is highly textured, from the combination of fibers, trimmings and quilted patterns.
