Raymond Mancini / Artistic Collage
Hometown: West Long Branch, NJ
Raymond Mancini creates digital collages of his own drawings and paintings of iconic locations, religious images, schools and universities. Through his creations, he wants to take the viewer back to a significant moment or period of time in their life.
His collage techniques are inspired by a 1950’s style of Italian paintings in which the artist painted over a photograph. His mother owned one of these paintings and he would study it and wonder how they created such a unique effect.
Using the drafting skills he learned while studying to be an engineer, he began layering images and combining various techniques to create his own style of digital collage.
One of his early pieces ended up in a gallery which led to a request for a collage of Asbury Park, NJ. Since then he’s gone on to create collages for other New Jersey, New York and Chicago landmarks and resorts.
His Victorian collage is inspired by Winslow Homer’s painting “Long Branch, New Jersey”. Raymond grew up in Long Branch, New Jersey.
