As a teenager, Willie Mitchell was enamoured with the fashion choices of celebrities like Josephine Baker, Diana Ross, Grace Jones, Jody Watley and Madonna. He also admired legendary designers like Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfield, Coco Chanel, Armani and others.

After attending Parsons School of Design for a couple of years, he found work with prestigious designers like Liz Claiborne and Victoria’s Secret.

His design illustrations have appeared in Essence Magazine’s Spring Brides issue and in other design publications.

In 2002, he established his fashion illustration business featuring 3D mixed media art on greeting cards and paintings. His detailed handcrafted illustrations are embellished with fabric, glitter and decorative appliques.

Visit Willie’s booth at an upcoming Sugarloaf Crafts Festival and discover greeting cards unlike anything you’ve seen before!
