Scott Supraner / Hawksbill Pottery
pottery & ceramics
Hometown: Charlottesville, VA
Hawksbill Pottery is owned and operated by potter Scott Supraner, and it produces handcrafted stoneware made to collect and use every day. The Charlottesville, Virginia-based company specializes in stoneware fired at temperatures of up to 2300 degrees Fahrenheit, creating a strong and durable product that’s made to last through dining, drinking and everyday life.
Each piece of Hawksbill Pottery stoneware is embossed with Supraner’s original designs and then hand-painted with a lead-free glaze. These plates, bowls, mugs and other items are oven-proof, dishwasher-safe and even able to be used in the microwave. Some of these pieces are made on a potter’s wheel and others are built by hand, but you can be sure that each one is made with care. By using hand stamps and a painting process similar to Batik, Hawksbill Pottery creates beautiful pottery creations that you’ll love admiring every time you use them.
